I have a lovely old photo of my brother John and myself, with mummy, at a party. John and I are looking extremely serious whilst mummy is looking gay and happy. We have, on a table in front of us, those little bottles of orange that the milk-man used to carry on his milk-float.
Yes, parties were serious events!
